The Benedum
Geriatric Center provides outpatient evaluation and treatment for older
adults with complex problems requiring medical and psychiatric care.
The center focuses primarily on the frail elderly who have multiple
medical and psychiatric problems that need assessment and who are most at
risk for hospitalization. Services
offered include: comprehensive
medical, psychiatric, and social assessments; ongoing medical and
psychiatric treatment; health care education, counseling, and
psychotherapy for patients and families; environmental planning toward the
goal of maintaining the patient's residence at home for as long as
possible; specialized services, such as outpatient treatment for
incontinent people; referrals to community resources; consultations with
referring physicians and other community health care providers; access to
Canterbury Place, an assisted living residence affiliated with the Benedum
Geriatric Center.

reporting on local and national companies; reviewing and processing
customer complaints; conducting informal and formal mediation and
arbitration hearings to settle disputes; reporting on local and national
charities soliciting for funds; resolving disputes between new car owners
and manufacturers under the Autoline program; educating consumers through
Tel-Tips, a library of over 400 recorded messages providing general and
pre-purchase information to consumers.
