Foreword
In
Fayette County, a wide range of health, welfare, and community services
are available. Knowing which
agency can best help in a specific situation is not always easy. For that reason, Fayette County Community Action Agency,
Inc., in cooperation with the Fayette County Human Services Council, is
proud to present the Year 2000 edition of the Fayette County Resource
Directory.
The
directory lists non-profit, voluntary and government organizations with
established health, welfare and community service programs serving in
Fayette County. This
information, as well as many other community resources, is updated on a
regular basis and stored in the Community Action Agency computerized
database.
The
information printed in the Directory was obtained through direct
correspondence with the agencies listed.
All possible efforts were taken to assure accuracy and
completeness. Inclusion of an
agency or organization in this Directory does not constitute an
endorsement to them or their service.
We are not responsible for the consequences of any errors that may
occur in the Directory. Please
inform us of any changes, corrections, or additions to the Directory by
using the information sheet form contained at the end of this Directory.
Additional copies may be obtained by using the order form contained
at the end of this Directory.
How
To Use This Directory
There
are several ways to use this Directory.
Oraganizations and Agencies are listed in alphabetical order (in
the Org section). If the
agency is not listed where you expected to find it, refer to the subject
index which lists agencies by the type of service provided. If you do not find the service you need, try an alternate
term. For example, if you
want to locate an emergency shelter, you may begin your search by looking
under "Emergency Shelter".
If you did, you would find a reference to "Shelters"
which is where you would find a list of Emergency Shelters.
If
you cannot find the service you need, call Fayette County Community Action
Agency Information and Referral at (724) 437-8888 or 1-800-427-4636.
We'll be able to direct you to the appropriate listing in the
Directory or tell you about new programs that are not listed in the
Directory.
We
hope you find this Resource Directory to be an effective and valuable
asset. If you have any
questions or comments about the directory or wish to order a directory,
please refer to page 128. Your
comments on the Directory are appreciated.
