Services Provided:

The Benedum Geriatric Center provides outpatient evaluation and treatment for older adults with complex problems requiring medical and psychiatric care. The center focuses primarily on the frail elderly who have multiple medical and psychiatric problems that need assessment and who are most at risk for hospitalization. Services offered include: comprehensive medical, psychiatric,and social assessments; ongoing medical and psychiatric treatment; health care education, counseling, and psycho-therapy for patients and families; environmental planning toward the goal of maintaining the patient's residence at home for as long as possible; specilalized services, such as outpatient treatment for incontinent people; referrals to community resources; consultations with referring physicians and other community health care providers; access to Canterbury Place, an assisted living residence affiliated with the Benedum Geriatric Center.
