The Fay-Penn Economic Development Council is a private, non-profit corporation whose objective is the overall economic development of Fayette County. One of the many ways the Council helps to attain this goal is by offering technical assistance to firms who are contemplating start-up, expansion, location, and/or relo-cation, in an effort to create jobs for the unemployed and underemployed. The FCDC assists firms by: meeting with them to discuss their business needs and/or problems, referring them to other appropriate service organizations, providing them with information, such as: demographic information, a listing of available sites and buildings in the area, listing of available low-interest loans, etc. In many cases, the Council assists industrial and/or manufacturing firms in devloping a financing plan and applying for long-term, low-interest state loans for: land and building, machinery and equipment and working capital.
