February   Souper" Bowl Sunday will be held on Sunday, February 7th.  Any Churches, businesses and individuals wishing to participate please contact Jamie at the foodbank 724-430-6444.  You could consider asking each person who attends your Super Bowl Party to contribute to "Souper" Bowl Sunday and send your donations into the foood bank.  Come up with fun ideas and share them with us. 

BAE SYSTEMS is conducting a food drive February 1 - 18.  They have donation boxes located in teh front office, back office and lunch rooms.  Monetary donations are also being accepted.  Items most needed are cereal, canned beans, sauces, canned pastas, canned meat/fish, canned vegetalbes, jello and pudding, canned juice, canned fruits and soups. 

March   Saturday March 13 our Upper Room Stride with Pride will begin at 8:00 AM. This is a non competitive mall walk.  Participants will have one hour to walk as many laps as possible around the inside of the Uniontown Mall.  The number of laps each particpant walks will increase his/her chance of winning a door prize.  Proceeds benefit the Senior Citzens served by Fayette County community Action Agency.  Cost is $12 by March 6 and $15 beginning March 7.  The first 50 pre-registered individuals will recieve a commemorative long sleeved t-shirt!
The Paul Sprowls Agency 5Y Diaper Derby will also be held on Saturday march 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM.  This event is a fun filled competition for crawling babies and toddlers up to 36 months old.  Crawlers participating in the Diaper Derby will crawl 5 yeards from one cheering "coach" to another cheering "coach".  Walkers will toddle 10 yards from one cheering "coach" to another cheering "coach".   All participants will be eligible to win a United States Savings Bond.  Proceeds benefit:  Fayette County Nurse Family Partnership Program.  Cost is $10 by March 6 and $12 beginning March 7.  All pre-registered babies and toddlers will receive a commemorative tee-shirt! 
The Boston Beanery St. Patrick's Day 5K Run/Walk will be on  Sunday March 14, 2010 beginning at 9:00 AM.  This is a competitive run/walk.  There are 12 running and walking categories.  Prizes will be awarded for overall male and female runners adn walkers in each age category.  Proceeds benefit:  Families in Crisis served by Fayette County Community Action.  Cost is $20 by March 6 and $25 beginning March 7, 2010.  The first 250 pre registered individuals will receive a commemorative shirt!

April  Scouting for Food.. 100th Anniversay will take place on Saturday, April 24th.  Scouts will be distributing door knockers on Saturday, April 17...please leave your items on your porch by 8:30 a.m. on Saturday the 24th.
